arctic art sales - galleries - fossilized mammoth ivory

Natural Beauty from Ages past. A rare treasure form the Ice Age. The Woolly Mammoth roamed the world' s northern lattitudes for nearly two and a half million years before becoming extinct during the last ice age 25,000 years ago. Over
the millenia, the giant tusks that fell upon the ground were gradually covered and fossilized by galacial deposits. Whole mammoth tusks are never destroyed to make jewellery, so as to ensure future generations can enjoy the treasure left by
this unique animal.
